Last September I created and conducted a marquee wedding ceremony here, in the meadow with the farmhouse as a backdrop. Even though the British weather wasn’t kind to us that day, the ceremony was filled with warmth, laughter, and happy tears. Guests gathered in the marquee, surrounded by flowers and beautiful lighting, and full on rustic charm – even a delicious hog roast cooking outdoors as the ceremony began.

It was informal, deeply meaningful, and utterly personal – just as a celebrant-led wedding should be.

From the peaceful pond-side lawn to the wildflower meadows, Great Betley Farmhouse offers several locations for outdoor ceremonies. The venue is a true blank canvas, giving you the freedom to style the space with hay bales, festoon lights, floral arches, or anything that reflects your vision.

What stands out to me most, is how comfortable and at ease everyone feels here. From the ceremony to the hog roast to the dancing, the days flow beautifully – thanks in no small part to venue owner Kim, who is genuinely passionate about helping each couple create a day that’s just right for them.
